This barn conversion in Devon had a patio and a lawn with a large field. The owners wanted to make the most of the views from the barn but also create a low maintenance garden that can be enjoyed with friends.
The garden is very exposed to the south-westerly wind so creating a protective wind break was vital and once established will really shelter the plants within the garden.
A water feature inspired by one the clients had seen on holiday in Spain creates a focal point and can be viewed from many different places. The sound of water helps to create a relaxing environment when enjoying the garden in the sun.
The pergola offers an additional place to take in the views, with trellising and planting creating a snug against the wind.
