This modern courtyard garden makes good use of a small space with built-in seating amongst the planting. To tackle the northerly aspect the walls were painted a bright cream and the raised beds planted with lush evergreens and colourful flowering perennials. The design bounced much needed light back into the area and provided a fun entertainment area.
The small pond was built-in as a focal point but also provides birds and insects with much needed water. The planting looks good all year round and the raised bedding is easy to manage for busy working professionals.
I am particularly proud of this space; it was transformed from a place that was hardly used into the perfect garden for entertaining in the city.
